Kara Hinshaw took over ownership from her parents who started Key Associates in 1975. She has been in the real estate business for 16 years and currently owns and operates the business in four locations Spencer, Dubois, Perry, and Vanderburgh County. Kara is a graduate of Purdue University with a degree in Industrial Engineering. Kara worked for 10 years as a Global Commodity Manager in North Carolina for IBM, Flextronics, and GlaxoSmithKline. During this time, she developed great negotiation skills working globally to procure and write contracts for these Fortune 500 companies. Kara started her real estate career when she moved back to Indiana to be with her family. Kara’s goals for Key Associates are to grow a brokerage that operates as a team across all of Southern Indiana. She believes in supporting new and existing agents with tools, support, and training with what she needed when starting her real estate career. She has a passion for real estate and loves helping clients and her agents within her brokerage.
Lisa Gengelbach has worked in corporate in environment for over 20 years, 10 of which have given her experience in Sales & Hospitality. She has been employed as a General Manager as well as a Director of Sales & Marketing. In her developed marketing strategies, she employs traditional means of networking and relationship-building which has aided in her success in building relationships between agents & clients. Being community-driven, Lisa has been seated on the Board of Directors for numerous associations in Champaign County and is currently a Board Member for the CLV Property Owners Association. In over her 25 plus year career, Lisa has developed a wide variety of experiences in Sales, Marketing & Operations.
Christina Crawford started as our Transaction Coordinator in 2019 and was our lead transaction coordinator up until 2022 when she transferred into a new position as our new Financial Operations Specialist. She has been working in the real estate field since 2018 and has handled hundreds of transactions. Christina prioritizes quick communication, thorough documentation, and reliability. She prides herself on treating each transaction as if it were her own and works diligently to make sure our files are in order. As a licensed agent herself, and having worked for multiple top-producing agents, Christina has an incredible knowledge of real estate law and practice. She is a true asset to our agents, their clients, and our vendors.
Jessica Robinson joined the Key Associates team in 2021 with the desire to make the process of buying & selling your home a smooth & enjoyable one. Erika Tischendorf has been with Key Associates since 2015. She originally started out as an administrative assistant through a work program in Highschool. After graduating, she attended Ivy Tech & IU Southeast attaining a BFA in Graphic Design. There she developed skills in Adobe Software & understanding of design's role in business. Having the opportunity to grow with Key & her background in design, Erika has aided in developing Key Associates' image on Social Media & through marketing materials. She strives to present a strong uniform business to the public eye as well as applying new ideas through social media to help move homes & expand Key Associates.
Tommy Vardaman is a seasoned videographer with a diverse range of experience in various industries. With seven years in wedding videography and two years in real estate media in both Chicagoland and Dallas-Fort Worth Area, Tommy has honed his skills in capturing the most memorable moments and showcasing properties. He has also completed online courses to stay updated with the latest techniques, this reflects his dedication to providing the highest quality video media. As a videographer for Key Associates, Tommy aims to create captivating and professional video content that not only attracts & educates viewers, but also highlights the unique qualities of each property & our surrounding area. He fosters a positive team environment and ensures each project is executed with meticulous attention to detail.
